next up on local talk we got a raw peak hour jam from liverpool producer dale howard (lost my dog, large, morris/audio, off rec). there is nothing light or fluffy about these tracks, its just dirty straight up house music with a dark 90s basement feel. for the main track we actually chose the dub version of throwback over of the original mix. we just thought this version was soooo freakin raw even though its more stripped than the original version. you’ll see what we mean when you drop it in the club! the second track in out goes along the same house theories as throwback with jackin beats and deep chords that will do wonders in any authentic house basement. all in all, a might fine release of classic local talk house music. enjoy!

this twentieth 3024 release is by my friend trevino. i am particularly proud to put this out because it was trevino (aka marcus intalex), who signed my very first tracks and gave me my break back in 2005 (a 12 inch called get down on his label revolve:r). in the last two years he has started taking his techno more seriously, writing new tracks at a very fast pace. i am glad people are taking notice of his music cos he is the real deal and it was tough picking tracks for this release cos he is making so many! ultimately we chose four that would clearly showcase marcus different sides and styles. so, seven years after my >get down<, i am proudly presenting the mighty trevino with his >tactical manoeuvre ep<.

to celebrate the rerelease of the three classic to rococo rot records on city slang between 1997 and 2001, we have asked two friends and fans to rework their favourite tracks of these albums.
four tets kieran hebden chose the brooding minimal collage >he loves me< from the bands 1997 archetypal release >veiculo< and, like a prism in singular beam of light, his remix reveals the songs true glistening content.
mute label founder and longtime to rococo rot afficionado daniel miller teamed up with london based producer gareth jones to give >cars<, from the bands impeccable second album >the amateur view< a compassionate modification into a ... well, lets call it a krautrock disco truck.
the 12 inch will be limited and only available for a short time.

our second vinyl release 2012 introduces a new series, the bias jams, on ilian tape. we start off with a compilation of 4 tracks from japan, serbia, argentina and italy. after some internal investigations we found out that imugem orihasam is not only a japanese shaolin, but also a yoga guru. his bias cut sounds like an instruction for a deep meditation in a forest. we chose a forest, because forests need to be saved. too many black puffs of vapour are killing them at the moment. our late riser regen probably didnt had that a mind, but we declare him to be an environmental activist from now on. now how should we include paper tape in this story … had a look online and found the term perforated paper tape. pretty interesting stuff, it was one of the first methods for data storage. ok are you guys joking? orbital? there is no way to write a good story with those track names. >an atomic orbital is a mathematical function that describes the wave-like behavior of either one electron or a pair of electrons in an atom<. yeah right! well in fact its enough to know that the bias jams series will feature some heavy bomboclaat bias cuts from various artists! cheers

drei farben house from berlin and roman rauch from vienna first met at a gig in the ustrian capital last spring. the two guys discovered that they share a common interest in soul and funk music as well as digging for old vinyls on flea markets.when it comes to this joint record,its all about the magic of soulful vocals,deep house chords and a relaxed disco vibe. romans powerful beats and low frequency basses on hell below are contrasted by soft and funky accoustic drums and a warm bass guitar which drei farben house chose for fluid finish. nother classy tenderpark trip to realms of deep musicality.

our favorite guys from athens return to we are after some time, and with some super tight beats as well! fact of the matter is, that we for this one occasion chose to go with a full 12 inch instead of our standard club tracks 12 inch format simply because we needed all these three tracks to fit – good job! already passed the floor-test at many clubs and people are really feeling this superglued tightly produced rhythms mixed with old school disco house, they are held back and sneaky, and at the same time accesible and open to groove – just the way we like it!

next up on falkplatz we chose one of italys most talented and uprising producers for contemporary dance music. roberto bosco from salerno. bosco already released on francois ks wave music, on orlando voorns night vision and is currently preparing his first full length for len fakis figure label. beside that he founded his own imprint flying donkey music together with claudio mate. for falkplatz roberto produced two tracks, that catch the ears of housefanatics (good lover) as well as the hearts of the technolunatics (untitled). remixes this time come from panorama bar resident steffi, who gave the original a touch of oldschool and sadness and from the falkplatz conspiracy (oliver deutschmann & ed davenport) who mixed a crafty acid influenced warehouse banger out of the original.

so it was a massive pleasure that maya chose 2020vision for her next full single release. when we discussed the project with her we agreed it was vital to put together a single that truly reflected her diverse tastes and skills. the title track >focus now< is a unique work that will be hard to even categorise. reminiscent of early matthew jonson records >focus now< features delicate synth sequences weaving in and out of intricate rhythms. it sounds amazing on big systems, like at fabric, where it was road tested by ralph lawson at the recent 2020vision party. it is one to drop at the right time to make a real change in mood and set direction. we then have >little one< which is a solid deep house groove, simple but effective. vocal snippets are added by mjc herself on both tracks but her true vocal talents are shown on >senseless<...

we would like to dedicate this release to our colleague and good friend aaron-carl who passed away on the 30th of september 2010. during the whole process of creating and thinking this record with ivel, aaron has been supportive from day one. he was a great musician and an amazing human being. his loss has affected all of us. it is very sad to think that this will probably be his last remix to come out, thus making this record and his remix even more meaningful. out of all the words aaron could have chosen out of martin luther kings speech for this remix, he chose the phrase >i just want to do gods will<. i think that god, if theres one, has called him by his side way too early. life will continue, aaron-carl and his music will stay in our hearts

australian producer philip mcgarva aka microworld is well known for his releases on transmat and styrax, both of which instantly became sought-after techno classics. dutch label adepth audio is proud to present microworlds new >time before techno< ep, with the title track another classic in the making.
microworlds signature is clearly evident throughout - the slow smooth build-up, with every new sound revealing extra dimensions within the music. definitely an after hours track that will go straight to your soul. the second track >ism< is a minimal but effective rhythm, a driving bassline, a catchy synthesizer and vocal sample that will stick in your head. canadian producer arthur oskan chose to remix >ism< and rebuild it into a pulsating 9 minute club track overflowing with warm synthesizers.

we have never done a project like this before where the artists choose all the remixers themselves. but for the crazy italoboyz album >bla bla bla< we found ourselves not really knowing what to do. so instead of forcing our own ideas for remixers we went back to the source and let the artists run wild on the a&r. marco and fede commissioned all the remixers themselves. the producers they chose are a very diverse bunch and the vinyl 12inch takes a sampling of the best material from two very big underground names. on the a-side das kraus duo turn it a super jackin yet also very haunting rendition of >oh mio dio.< it sounds like pitched up chicago house meets demon days. on the b-side old school master dandy jack turns in one of the oddest records ever on mothership with some unusual sound design, voices and semi-dischordant note runs. super weird for the super weird! whatever you think of this odd lot no one can deny these remixes definitely carry the indistinguishable mark of that ever so quirky duo, the italoboyz

rob bellevilles 4 track ep for adepth audio is his first vinyl release, following previous releases on the schall netlabel and paul macs digital label sulamuse. the 3 original synth-driven tracks on this ep are a perfect example of robs capability to produce epic-sounding tracks which are deep, soulful, energetic, and dancefloor-friendly.
german techno producer arne weinberg chose to remix the title track sounds of introspection and has delivered a version with a perfect blend of the original tracks main elements and his own beloved signature sound.

mike minds only previous release, >acid machine<, has been tigas most played record since it was made. a full-time turbo employee, he has spent the past few years getting his brain around making techno, and continues to impress us with his output. his debut ep, >resonate<, is something of a departure for our label, and one we are very proud of.
its amazing to have this kind of music coming directly out of turbo hq, it nails a sound that we have always tried to cultivate. minimal without being boring, trippy without being predictable, unafraid of melody, and with just enough analog imperfection and warmth to it.
both of the remixers we chose represent different sounds in techno that have influenced mikes sound.

giorgio gigli is an italian minimal-trance maestro, an incredibly modern renaissance man who is also a trained sommelier.** he is rising in the ranks and catching up in profile to his occasional production partner, donato dozzy. hopefully we will have more of his tracks on turbo soon.
2: m¦n¦m¦l
hobo is a fellow canadian best known for his excellent work on m¦nus. rumor has it, he borrowed richies quad-macro template file to finish the final version of this remix... whatever he did, his second effort came up huge, this mix is excellent.

in spring of 2006, jackpot began to fester in a stockholm apartment. without fresh air or natural light, the group developed its uniquely mutant strain of italo disco mixed with early 80s body music aided only by the sickly blue rays of late night tv. while the jackhammer rhythms of their music were proliferating in stockholm, jackpot dove into the deepest recesses of the electronic dance music psyche for the most primal of all rhythmic impulses - their own unmistakable sound - the sound of western culture falling apart in a blaze of shudders and hiccups. as late night sci fi reruns colored the room, jackpot also picked and chose amongst the psychotic debris of previous eras - the movies of kenneth anger, the music of suicide, velvet underground and bruce haack, the words of william s burroughs. and then they added the junkiest element of all - themselves. after two critically acclaimed records, the third chapter of the jackpot saga is about to be told. its called greased lightning (also features remix work from such talents as in flagranti and rory phillips). you hear that beat? thats them knocking on your door.

olmeto, a small town in corsica, is infamous as the birthplace of the family vendetta. we chose the name as it has an air of mystery but also a bit of fire. we felt that we wanted a label with us as the only artists free to do what we want, how we wantà this is release number 23. all have been ours, and range across the house spectrum, vocal, minimal, tech and deep and probably a little of each in all. the raw road and madagaskar whilst different, are made from the same mood. a strong rhythm with elements brought in and out, like a good dj, you lock the groove and then begin to play around it. although all tracks are by us, we do bring in artists we like to remix from time to time. the raw road will be remixed by mark broom and nic fanciullli and they will join artist such as loco dice, green velvet and unkle who have both remixed tracks over the course of the label.

here comes the third and final part of afu artists remixing afu artists and it s a very nice round up to the first remix series on afu limited! butch s great second release on afu limited gets a very high class remix treatment by none other than thomas p. heckmann himself and the man who likes to whop, gabriel ananda!! heckmann reworked butch s dancefloor killer of 2009 dark fader and pushed the level more than a bit higher with it s deep driving bassline and the ever growing tension and building of the vibe! sure thing this will be heard at peak time at outdoor and indoor parties this summer! ananda chose the excellent nomad track and delivered a very atmospheric and groovy/dubby version, peppered by his own unique style of rhythm and driving force! the man behind such classics as miracle whop, doppelwhipper on platzhirsch and many others surely knows how to bring his skills to life and to make this remix a sure classic again!

after concentrating on different music projects, its time to release a very own solo release for ewe. with 6feetunder, he chose one of his favourite labels for his new banger. burpweiser ep contains four different tracks which certainly get the club going. pure madness for the dancefloor. just perfect for the small anniversary of the 6 feet under label.

nice price deal !!! hailing from japan free disco moved to london two years ago and brought with him an ear for deep music. already an accomplished composer, record collector and disco selector when he sent out a demo of his new recordings it wasnt just electric minds that took note but also new yorks rong music where he will release later this year.. the a side >psychedelic symmetry< is a fast paced track made for the dance floor. heavy bass through out which is bound to find favor with the house heads as well as the lovers of the nu disco sound. the b side >hippe can dance with boogie< leans towards the cosmic with a spacey sound accompanied by live bass and keys.for this project we have commissioned our first remix with stevie kotey. kotey chose to remix >hippe can dance with boogie< creating a spacey disco excursion. he has added live percussion, new drums and replayed the synths so the full treatment from one of todays finest remixers

what a back to back funk winner... we had quite a dilemma on these two... we love the original tracks so much, that it was dificult to chose wether to re edit them or just release them as they were... we couldnt figure out, so we decided to reach a middle ground. a side is totaly redone, with extra programed breaks and clavinet hooks for maximum pleasure, as b side gets the release totaly as the original 12inch intrumental version (yes the one on the original indie release, not the one from the later major repress)... well... totally... not quite, the rythm has been straighten and quantize, so now you can mix it...
